Welcome home Brandon Roy

Hello everyone and welcome to official Minnesota Timberwolves thread.

Will this be a breakout year for Wolves ?

First season in ISBA wasnt successful at all for Wolves.Wolves ended 14th in Western conference with only 11 wins.Rookie coach Mulac did not justify the expectations.Wolves management had a lot of work to do over the summer and after several long meetings with coach Mulac they decided to gave him a new chance.
Fans welcomed that decision with open arms.Coach Mulac became everyones favorite person in Minneapolis in a few very short months.Everyone loves that Croatian white guy.

Fans expectations are high for this year and its up to coach to deliver.Adding Brandon Roy,Air Bud,AK47,Shved,Stiemsa to the existing core of Rubio - Love - Pek Wolves finally might have a shot at reaching playoffs.

Season Recap

With the playoffs just around the corner it is time for season recap of your own Minnesota Timberwolves.

Lets get started with congratulating Kevin Love for being inducted to the All Star team.
Love deserved this one with his great performances in first part of the season. In second part of season TWolves family suffered alot of problems which led to whole team underperforming..including Love.
But we will talk about that later.
Kevin is currently averaging 17 points per game on 52% shooting and adding 7 boards to it on only 21 minutes of playing time. Amazing season once again for a best power forward in the game.

One of the greatest duos in ISBA history ?

First half of the season

Minnesota opened the season great with win over Houston Rockets which is coached by Luka who is one of the greatest coaches in ISBA. Full of confidence Timberwolves faced the Heat and lost narrowly 75-73.
" Tough loss for us " - before Coach Mulac stormed out of the conference room he said those 4 words.
He was mad. That was evident.

That loss seemed to bother Coach Mulac more than his players because Twolves went on winning streak just after that game.
Three big wins were achieved against eminent playoff teams : Sixers, Lakers and Warriors.
They added few CPU games to that winning streak.
Those were the great days for being a Twolves fan.

The Timberwovles were back to winning and playoffs seemed closer than ever.
Huge hype was created around Timberwolves. They were mentioned in alot of articles in ISBA league which was impressive.Probably a little too much impressive for some of the players. And our own Coach Mulac.
He was definitely not thinking straight. His team was on a roll and he was living in his own world.
I mean.. How would someone explain what happened on a press conference after a HUGE win over Heat in double OT. That was probably the weirdest interview in ISBA history.
Just as he walked into the conference room Coach Mulac screamed out loud and we quote : " YOO Adrian, I did it !!! "
I mean WTF. Well, to be honest..I understand.Even I found myself dreaming of the title already.
One month into the season. Oh..the joy of winning games.

Yes im back !

Tough days in Minnesota

Everything good comes to an end.
After amazing start into the season Twolves faced Coach Antes Boston Celtics.
Coach Ante and Mulac go way back and this game more than just a regular season game.
For Coach Mulac especially. Twolves lost both of those games. Tbh..they werent even close as it seemed Celtics didnt play at their fullest.
Second infamous loss to Celtics led to total collapse of Twolves. Coach Mulac got called out publicly for his cheap playstyle and he got a final warning before getting kicked out from ISBA league.
Tough days for our coach.

You can read below what coach Mulac said after all that mess.

Coach Mulac on being called out : " It hurts, man. It really does. Everything was fine, everyone was praising my game, congratulating me on the wins..no one said anything. And all of the sudden it seemed everyone turned their back on me. Backstabbed me.
It appears other coaches have some sort of secret meetings where they give their reports about playstyle of certain members. Dont know what to say..I really dont. I feel betrayed. "

Big words.
Our coach was brutally honest once again. You cant really blame him there.

After the storm comes the sunshine

Hard few days were in front of Twolves office. Should they keep the infamous coach or let him go ?
I was on Coach Mulac bandwagon from the start and im glad the front office decided not to fire him.

Whole team was emotionally drained after huge blowout losses against Celtics.
Their coach was not helping them either. He skipped few practices and left team hanging.
He was spotted drinking in a local bar.

Some random guy told us that coach Mulac was encouraged to get back to work after he saw his players skipping practices aswell to show support to their coach.

Brandon Roy discussing the situation : " We are a family , man. If one goes down..we are coming with him.
You can bet on that . "

Everything was set for Twolves to get back to doing what they do best. Playing basketball.
Coach Mulacs first game back was agains Rockets.
Twolves won and everything seemed to be better. Altough our coach once again gave a weird interview.

Coach Mulac on the win vs. Rockets : " This was my first game back.. after all shit that happened.I played against Luka who is my colleague but also my good friend. I won this one. But..Luka definitely did not play at his best level that game. He knew that I needed that win alot more than him. I needed to boost my moral after that huge meltdown. Thank You for that , man. "

After game vs Rockets - Twolves played alot of CPU games and won almost all of those.
Fourth quarter meltdown happened to Twolves in Warriors game. They were leading whole game and were up by 15 but when fourth quarter started..everything went wrong.
Timberwolves shot 2-12 from field, scoring only 9 points in the quarter. Warriors coach Crax outplayed Mulac in every segment in that fourth quarter.Putting Curry on 2-spot seemed like a risky move but it was highly rewarded. Curry was unstoppable and helped Warriors scoring 27 points in the quarter.
Big comeback for Warriors. Huge loss for Twolves.

Before I forget.
Shoutout to Coach Bryan of Brooklyn Nets.Hopefully 2k let us play our games next season.

Timberwoles are currently 4th in Western conference with 35-20 record.
They have 3 human games left which will be simmed for sure. 35-23 at worst.

Oh, and yes... WE CLINCHED PLAYOFFS.

Coach Mulac on clinching playoffs : " OHH..what to say ? Man.......
Playoffs..Uhh. I cant believe it. What a great feeling. Alot of people didnt see us coming to the playoffs but we prove them wrong. This is a great reward for all the hard work me and the guys put into this season.
We are going to enjoy every minute of it. No pressure at all. Just have fun. "

Signings

Timberwoles signed Richard Jefferson to a 1yr / 473 k with a player option.
This signing was talked around the league as a cheap move.

Coach Mulac on the rumours : " It seems that everything we do is a bad move in eyes of some coaches.
I have no idea why this is a cheap move.I did not know there is a rule where you cant sign a waived player.
But I dont have time for this. RJeff is with us now and I have to focus on adding him to the rotation. "

Jerry Stackhouse was also signed to a 1 yr / 473 k deal.
Stack played only a few minutes so far but he already turned out to be a fan favourite because of his hustle plays.
Stack announced that he will retire at the season end few days ago. Thanks for everything.

#ThankYouStack

Dante Cunnigham was waived by Timberwolves.
He just did not fit our playing style - coach Mulac briefly commentated.

Trade disaster

Another infamous chapter in Timberwolves history.
Coach Mulac pushed hard for a trade for his best player in the league - Jameer Nelson.
He was prepared to offer second pick in 2011 draft Derrick Williams and Luke Ridnour along with the first round pick for Jameer and Gustavo Ayon.

This trade did not go well with the trade commitee.Coach Mulac got into a verbal fight with one of the coaches.Commisioner Stern was watching all that closely and he decided to expell Coach Mulac from the ISBA league.

Day after..coach Mulac was back. How ? I dont really know. I guess Stern realised he made a rash decision.
After all those turbulences..now everything seems to be fine around the Timberwolves.
Coach Mulac was a part of Team Up game with other coaches and it seems everything is back to normal.
For how long ? We cant answer that.

You are the best

Of course we did not forget arguably best point guard in the league.
We are now officialy congratulating to our own Ricky Rubio for being selected to All Star team.
He is going to play as a reserve to Chris Paul.

Ricky had a great season as he average 8 PPG, 10 assists, 3 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game on 21 mins per game.
Hes playing less than every other PG in the game and still averaging stats to be in top 3 in AST and STLS.
We wish him all the best in playoffs. Stay healthy. LEGGO TWOLVES.
